NB Gin Bottles

Perfect.

For sipping, classics & cocktails.

NB Gin is a pure, clear, uncompromised grain spirit of 42 percent ABV, the result of an exacting process that’s been perfected and bottled, to become recognised as the best London Dry Gin in the world.

And now that it is the best, it’ll stay this way. That doesn't mean winning awards. It means continuing to use only the finest of 8 botanicals and remaining true to its perfected process.

That way, NB Gin will always be ‘perfect’.

NB Gin Bottles

NB Gin.

The bottle may change, but what’s inside is the same perfect gin.

Gin has always been something of an obsession for Steve and Viv Muir. When they started, their ambition was to create the ‘perfect’ gin. The London Dry process is recognised as being the most exacting and meticulous way to create great gin in small batches. So naturally, they followed this process.

They began by experimenting in their home kitchen with a pressure cooker and some old central heating pipes - hardly glamorous, but their makeshift ‘still’ was a great way to test hundreds of different botanicals with water to see which worked together the best.

When they were confident of a possible recipe, they were granted a license and progressed to a glass, desktop lab still. Their kitchen became an official ginnery. They distilled, refined and distilled again – over hundreds of batches and thousands of hours – before finally they created the gin they believed was ‘perfect’. A gin that was worthy of putting their name to. Their own Original NB Gin.

Having perfected their recipe, they invested in a custom-built still made to their exact specifications by the world’s oldest and most revered still-makers. A still that would be able to precisely replicate their tried and tested recipe. It was time to move out of their kitchen and into their new distillery.

Within two years, their gin won admirers from near and far and in 2015 was voted the Best London Dry Gin in the world. They achieved what they originally set out do: to create perfection that’s recognised globally.

NB will always remain a small company, only ever using the London Dry process, believing in its people and their skills, and working as hard as ever. And when Steve and Viv put the NB name on a bottle, they promise that inside will be every bit as ‘perfect’ as their Original Gin.

Our Process

Process.

London Dry. Perfected.

NB Gin is created using the exacting and meticulous London Dry process. This means that all of its flavours only come from the essential oils released from the botanicals through the distillation process. No flavour can be added by any other means. Only the finest 8 botanicals are used to make NB Gin: juniper; coriander seed; angelica root; grains of paradise; cassia bark; ground cardamom; lemon peel and orris root powder. The consistently high quality of these botanicals ensures perfection between the small batches distilled.

Following extensive research and experimentation, a process was finally perfected, which dictates:
  • The temperature of the still to within one degree at any one time throughout the whole process;
  • The total run time, literally timed to the second;
  • The cuts (both tail and head) to the second and millilitre;
  • The botanicals, weighed to the gram; and
  • The amount of water and spirit used, measured to the gram.
The distillate that comes from the still is over 83 percent ABV. It sits for a minimum period before being blended down to bottling condition – 42 percent ABV - by adding filtered water and some neutral grain spirit. Each blending drum holds the equivalent of only 275 bottles of NB Gin. Although immensely difficult to control, only the London Dry process creates the subtle variations of flavour and smooth and distinctive long taste that NB Gin is renowned for. It’s perfection that’s recognised globally and is the only way NB Gin will ever be made.

  • Try it.

    The perfection is in the tasting.

    The only way to truly experience NB Gin is to try it. Just one sip is enough to leave a lasting, memorable impression. Then you’ll understand why it was voted the World’s Best London Dry. The perfection is in the tasting.

    Sipping.

    Try it before your tonic.

    Once experienced, NB Gin is never forgotten. Sipping neat, with a dash of water, or over ice, you’ll taste the purity of a perfected process. This is how NB Gin is judged – judge it for yourself.

    Neat.

    Neat, or with a dash of water, NB Gin’s character can be truly savoured and appreciated without being masked by any other flavours. Juniper invites you in; followed by a burst of clean citrus; then warm earthy notes and a dash of white pepper before the final flourish of juniper.

    Over ice.

    Over slightly melted ice, its botanical notes are accentuated and come to the fore – clean and fresh with a wonderfully smooth texture.
  • Classics.

    Style never goes out of fashion.

    NB Gin is naturally perfect for classic mixers. Try it in a G&T or Martini and experience timeless perfection.
